TIMTOS to Surpass Japan as 3rd Largest Show of Its Kind
President of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Walter M. S. Yeh, stated that Hall 2 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall will soon open in 2019, and that is where the Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS) in Taipei will be expanded to on a larger scale, with 7,000 stalls, to set a new TIMTOS record. By then, TAITRA will surpass Japan's International Machine Tool Fair as the third biggest machine tool fair in the world.

For TIMTOS next year, Industry 4.0 and Intelligent Manufacturing will be matched with an AI and Innovation Session, making TIMTOS a trend-leading exhibition in Asia. In addition, a Second Industry Submit Forum will be held featuring Intelligent Networking, 3D Printing, Automotive Accessories, and Aviation. World-renowned professionals and industry experts will be invited, showing TIMTOS's influence on the Asia-Pacific region.

The 29th Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF 2018) was held at Tokyo Big Sight from November 1–6. Walter M. S. Yeh went to Japan and hosted many events to promote Taiwan's machinery industry and TIMTOS 2019 while at the JIMTOF exhibition. TAITRA and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) jointly hosted an international journalist dinner at JIMTOF 2018 to promote Taiwan and its upcoming industry events. The journalists were invited to Taiwan to visit and report on TIMTOS 2019 so as to increase the popularity of TIMTOS and attract more foreign buyers in March 2019.
