TAIPEI CYCLE Promotes Smart Manufacturing and Next Generation Technologies through “TAIPEI CYCLE+”

The 31st TAIPEI CYCLE Show will be held October 31 through November 3 at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Nangang Exhibition Hall 1 and Exhibition Hall 3, with total booths numbered 3,250. 22.3% of the 1,150 exhibitors will come from abroad, including returning Japan and European (CONEBI) pavilions, as well first-time Korean and Italian Pavilions, the results of intense effort to promote the Show by overseas offices of the organizer, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). A vast range of complete bicycles, cycling wear and accessories, e-bikes, and smart cycling applications will be featured.

Leaders in the Taiwan cycling industry, such as Giant, Merida, Kenda, KMC, Alex Global, will participate alongside other Taiwan assembly and parts and components companies, demonstrating their strength in high-end research and development and manufacturing. TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards and Taiwan Excellence winners will be showcased at Booth L0118 and L0318 respectively, on the 4th floor of TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall 1, the fastest way to glimpse into new product trends, and to gain an overview of research and development in the Taiwan cycling industry. International exhibitors will also unveil their latest offerings, include Singaporean App developer Velodash, German mechatronics manufacturer Rockmando, top bicycle rack manufacturer Thule from Sweden, complete bicycle manufacturers Hilltecks from France and Greyp Bike from Croatia.

TAIPEI CYCLE will launch “TAIPEI CYCLE+” at TWTC Hall 3, introducing IoT (Internet of Things) and smart applications technologies from cross-over and startup companies, and infusing innovative capabilities into the development of the global cycling industry. 128 companies including cross-overs such as MPS, BRYTON, CYQLO, ENERMAX, CENZ and SHUTTER will join “TAIPEI CYCLE+”. Startup companies will launch new products at TWTC Hall 3, and various lectures on cycling as a culture will also be held.

The 2nd TAIPEI CYCLE DEMO DAY was held at Hua-zhong Campsite one day before the opening of the Show (October 30). Buyers and the general public alike had the opportunity to test ride new models from over 40 brands by 25 companies from 6 countries, including e-bikes and mountain bikes.On November 1 and 2, industry leaders including representatives from Microsoft, Giant Group, the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industries (CONEBI), the Light Electric Vehicle Association (LEVA) in the U.S., and leading trade media BIKE EUROPE, will gather at TAIPEI CYCLE Forum. E-bikes, smart manufacturing and the future of transportation will be explored in depth through 8 keynote speeches and 4 panel discussions.

Research and Markets, an international industry market research agency, forecasts that the global bicycle market will grow to USD 44.4 billion during the period 2018-2022. Introduction and adaptation of new technologies will drive industry growth, including the rise of e-bikes, integration of mechatronics, and IoT. Taiwan will capitalize on its competitive advantage in integrating information and communications technology and precision manufacturing, and will seize the opportunities in smart riding as the global industry transforms.
